Zombies in Royal Oak

It's amazing what you see in Royal Oak. Today's fun was the annual (?) Zombie Walk.

The undead arose and congregated at the train station parking lot, preparing to wander around the streets of the city, looking for flesh.

Just a regular guy sippin on a bottle of power steering fluid.

That's a lot of blood!

With so much lost blood and injuries, it was comforting to see a medical professional in attendance.

RED Hot Chilli Zombers?

Now isn't that some lovely nighttime attire?
Even complete with fluffy slippers!

A delightful chap!

Happy couple.

There is something surreal about a green lady with a crow on her head using a digital camera.

A resident who might have issues with Royal Oak turning into a zombie.

Detroit's Cleanest Porta Potty

Some time back, I seen a report which talked about the dirtiest porta potty in tha D.

After having my last beer of the season at Comerica, and being so dumb as not to use the facilities at the park, I was afraid of being caught short on the ride home. How thanful I was when I seen a toilet shack in the parking lot.

Granted, I was apprehensive as I walked towards it. Being where it was, I was half expecting it to be the home of a junkie. Or, at least a hold-my-breath-til-I-get-out-as-fast-as-possible type of joint.

I was wrong. This was easily the cleanest port-a-potty I have ever been in. It was actually stocked with all the necessary equipment and surprisingly, did not smell at all.

As a result of this fine experience, I hereby award the Portable Restroom in the parking lot on Woodward, just north of the freeway, the Cleanest Outdoor Restroom in Detroit Golden Toilet Brush Award!

Thanks Tigers!!

We went to the Tigers last night for the last time this year. They had the Minnesota Twins - with the Yankees losing earlier in the day, it was an extra chance, albeit a long one, for the tigers to just maybe be back in the running for the wild card.

Well I thought it was a nice moon!
I hear Sean Casey is expecting this to be his last season - that's unfortunate. At least in my little baseball mind, he was good to have around the Tigers for the last year and a bit.
Nate Robertson started, but Fernando had on.

Maglio got on base, but to no avail.

At the end it was 2-0 to the twins, and the magic number for the Yankees was 1. Big uphill battle for the tigers.

No matter what happens, it was a great season. Yeah, we're probably not reaching the post season - we did last year, and it was great, but at least they guys put in a great effort. Way way better than 2,3,4,5 years ago.

2008 - if Jim is still skipper - World Series again.

Look! A Hawk!

While at a kids soccer event last Saturday north Royal Oak, I seen the bird below just sitting observing things. Pretty cool, me thinked!
